2025 Interior Design Trends: Top 6
As we look ahead to a new year of fresh looks as well as tried and true styles, 2025 interior design trends are shaping up to be all about blending every day comfort with unexpected touches. This year’s trends are dialing up on colour, embracing sustainable materials, and giving rooms a refreshing update that’s as cozy as it is ‘wow’. So if you’re thinking about giving your home a glow-up this year, read on to learn about the top trends that will define interiors in 2025!
1. Biophilic Design Takes Root
In 2025, biophilic design continues to be a favoured trend, bringing nature indoors with organic textures, earth-inspired colour palettes, and, of course, plants. But this year, we’re going beyond the basics and dedicating entire spaces to nature. Think indoor gardens and living walls with natural light flowing in through bigger, more impressive windows. Why? Because even small doses of greenery can breathe life into a room and boost your mood. After having lived through the pandemic, we could all use as much in-home nature as we can get.
Tip: If you want to create a living wall in your home, make sure to consider a watering system that takes into account the different types of plants you intend to grow as well as the ones that might be hard to reach!
2. Saturated Colours Are Making a Comeback
We’re into keeping neutral minimalism at bay for another year as a part of the 2025 design trends. Saturated colours are becoming all the rage in the era of self-expression. We’re choosing paint colours (and even drenching our rooms) in tones that are easily able to convey our emotions and moods. From jewel tones like emerald and sapphire to earth tones like ochre and clay, colour choices are more adventurous and unapologetic.
Tip: If you’re newer to decorating with saturated colours (or any design style or decorating trend, for that matter), we always encourage DIYers to start small. Add a few throw cushions, some plate wear, or an accessory or two in your desired hue. Continue layering for a colour-drenching effect.
3. Sustainable and Recycled Materials
Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s become a cornerstone of design. In 2025, the focus is on eco-friendly, recycled, and responsibly sourced materials. Reclaimed wood, recycled metals, and biodegradable materials are making a positive impact on the planet, all while creating beautiful spaces we can feel great about.
Tip: A good place to start in making your home greener is to look for furniture made from FSC-certified wood. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is the industry leader in distinguishing sustainable forestry and responsibly sourced forest products like wood and paper.
4. A Nod to the Coast
As much as so many of us love coastal living and everything that comes with it, we’re not all fortunate enough to live on the coast! So what better way to embrace the sea than to decorate our homes in coastal design? As one of the 2025 interior design trends, we couldn’t be more excited that one of our all-time favourite design styles is making its presence known!

Tip: You don’t have to use the obvious ocean-side items to achieve this look. Adding woven materials in unexpected places can be a really fun way of achieving the coastal look.
5. Texture-Rich Interiors for a Tactile Experience
And we’re not just talking about decor here. Wall and ceiling treatments are surging in popularity, and for good reason! Like art, mouldings offer visual interest, depth, and texture to your walls. A major difference, however, is they do all of that without marrying you to a colour palette. Give these a go if you want to add character to your home. Your guests will be oh-so envious of the upgrade.
Tip: Mouldings aren’t something to be daunted by. You can add them as a DIY project by purchasing some at your local home improvement store (if you don’t want to pay a professional to install them). Just follow one of the many how-to videos available online!
6. Soft Lines for Romance and Elegance
One of our favourite trends is the rise of curvy furnishings in interiors. Why is this one of our faves? It allows for the juxtaposition of the straight lines in a typical room (walls, cabinetry, doors, etc.). With this trend gaining momentum as quickly as it has, we’re excited to see many more homes in 2025 sporting the perfect amount of romantic silhouettes sitting against rectilinear shapes, adding a specific sculptural quality to the home that is hard to otherwise achieve.
Tip: The key to making this trend work is to not go curve crazy! You’ll want to choose just one or two curved pieces (especially if they’re large) with the majority of the other items having classic lines to make your rooms look effortlessly elegant.
